Mizarolli's Debut Album - 9 Historic rock tracks featuring 3 major british drummers. Ginger Baker of the Cream, Richard Bailey (Jeff Beck) and Brett Morgan (Uriah Heep, Mel B, Sting, Jon Lord of Deep Purple). 2 major british bassists. Henry Thomas (Bros, Randy Crawford, Crusaders, Ginger Baker) and John McKenzie (Man, Pete Brown). 3 distinctly different lead vocalists. Noel McCalla, Jon Elstar and Mizarolli. Keys are by Don Airey(Ozzie Osbourne) and Chris Parren. The legendary Creams drummer Ginger Baker helped Mizarolli to put this masterpiece album together. It was mixed at Morgan Studios and Jam Studios by John Etchelles who produced Dave Gilmour's Debut Album and engineered on many of Queen's albums. Features Andy Herbert on bass, Tony Natale on drums and John Mizarolli on guitar and vocals. Creams White Room and All Along The Watchtower are the best recordings since the originals. Reg Presley of The Troggs produced Wild Thing. Purple Rain some say is better than the original by Prince. At the end of Purple Rain is an amazing impromptu improvisation in the studio in which Andy Herbert ended up bouncing his bass up and down on the studio floor. It would be better to call this Purple Storm. Original songs written by John and some co-writes with Pete Brown, Cream's lyricist. 1980 UK's 'Earth Wind & Fire' Soulful Jazz-Funk, showcasing Uk's best Soul Singer Noel McCalla of Manfred Man, Alphonso Johnson and Moon. Level 42 took heavy influence from this band, an offshoot of Jody St once hailed as 'Britain's Brightest Hope'. Henry Thomas on bass, Brett Morgan on drums, John Mizarolli on guitar & Godfrey Wang on keys who toured with Stevie Winwood. 12 Songs composed, mixed and produced by the band at the famous Morgan Studios in London, which was one of England's key music recording centers in the latter half of the 20th Century. Everybody from Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Thin Lizzy to Rod Stewart recorded there. |

Big Joe Turner worked for years with blues legends like BB King, Albert King, George Benson and Stevie Wonder. He rated Mizarolli as UK's best blues guitarist and endorsed his opinion by playing and producing this cd. So against all odds after Mizarolli played on Memphis Blues Caravan, Big Joes debut blues album, he opened up a reputation for his blues guitar playing. Tony Natale has played with legends like John Fogerty of Creedance Clearwater and Jaco Pastorius. John and Izzee went to school together and formed their musical bonds way back in the 60's music revolution. UK's best blues singer John L Watson teams up with UK's best blues guitarist! These 2 blues legends produced a historic blues album! A truely innovative blues landmark fusing black blues with gypsy, greek and indian influences via Mizarolli's axe. John L Watson is down in the blues hall of fame and one listen to his soulful voice and you know why. It was after hearing this cd that Big Joe Turner wanted to meet Mizarolli and start working together. The bass was laid down by Tony Ciniglio who was in a band called the The Cafe Racers with none other than Dire Straits legend Mark Knopfler. On drums was John Clarke famed for playing with The Pretty Things. The piano and keyboards were played by Simon Davies who engineered, recorded, played and produced many of the Music of the Spheres Studio artistes between 1990 and 2005. The combination create an extremely modern jazz idiom that takes us into the 21st century quite comfortably. Opium Trail takes you to South Americas mountains of Peru! The Prowler is a jazz-rock classic with Kofi again. Question features super sax player Kelvin Christiane and Madness keyboard player Terry Disley.  An odd collection of jazz compositions and live jams from Mizarolli's travels. Runaway Man and John Coltrane's Mr Pc are a lesson in how not to be purist in jazz. In Mr Pc, John breaks all the traditional rules of jazz purists whilst spanning 50 years of guitar syles in one tune! What would John Coltrane have said if he heard his famous standard done like this? Boz Burrell, known for bass with Bad Company and King Crimson appears on the Eddie Harris classic Freedom Jazz Dance, very wild rendition here. From another gig with Boz Burrell and Martyn Symonds, an electric guitar jazz approach fused with Eddie Van Halen on Improvision. Purists goodbye. Frequenaut is as innovative as you get with guitar nowadays. Is ET on this track? Elafonisos written by Greek Moles bass talent Thanassis Panou is beautiful and takes us back 4000 years. Thanassis plays a beautifully haunting Pan Pipe with Mizarolli accompanying in a sort of Albatross type fantasia - truly mythical sound of the sea. Amazon Jungle speaks for itself. Culture Jungle is Peru and South American Indians with a Count Bassie ending. If you like innovation..... it's here |
