What is the best way to learn how to play the guitar? A Music Professor asked us this question and I was surprised that nobody reacted and even guitar players seemed perplexed at the true explanation of how to play guitar and keep progressing fast. We had to write essays on the best way to learn how to play the guitar. I was very curious about the many opinions and theories that resulted from this project. For once I was interested in my homework. I couldn't wait for the next lesson with our professor. People generally were divided into two groups – one group was arguing and telling us that definitely one of the best ways to learn how to play the guitar is simply to practise with a teacher at first and study all possible guitar instructions. The second group was claiming that the best way to learn how to play the guitar was to be born with talent and only a little practise in school or at home was enough to improve the techniques how to play. I was not a member of any of these groups, I am simply thinking the best way to learn how to play the guitar is to practise alone using the method which is the most suitable for me. Maximum effect, minimum energy. The Music Professor agreed with my opinion and confirmed that the best way to learn how to play the guitar should be chosen individually according to personal commitment of time, performance experience, responsibilties and motor skills.
