The future of guitar lessons

Guitar music, guitar songs and guitar lessons... Are they for you? This site exists because we are definitely at the crossroads of evolution with guitar lessons and all music education. Who knows where music education will evolve to in the coming years? Could be any number of directions, but one thing is for sure and that is guitar lessons, whether online or traditional, are becoming more popular with every passing day. The electric guitar is almost like golf, motorbikes or fast cars as a hobby. The future of guitar tuition is still unpredictable. You need strong guidance or you'll end up like the horse below, flying but going nowhere fast!

The future is here with all sorts of new online guitar and music lessons being offered by many very experienced and creative teachers. Guitar lovers don't do media just to enjoy their art. Never before have there been so many ways offered to learn how to play the guitar! Its exciting stuff for sure but also overwhelming. Information overload! Thousands of guitarists on YouTube and Google, all with more than enough information for a hundred years of playing! The truth is 90% of them don't appear to be getting out of the bedroom! Further the information you get is a tiny segment of the full picture and usually you won't sound like the online teacher even if you have the tab, the video and the sound. I specialise in futuristic ways of absorbing and applying guitar knowledge. After teaching 27000 guitar players, I know a little.

Should you learn from guitar tabs? How many important guitar scales are there? Is there such a thing as guitar music theory? Do you need theory before you attempt playing your favorite guitar songs? These are some of the beginners questions. Do I need perfect pitch? What is relative pitch? Some will still tell you to learn your guitar tabs, some say you've got to read music. Are guitar scales different from other instruments scales? What guitar rhythms do you learn first before you move on to learning complete guitar arrangements? Entirely different approaches. Who's right? Is there really a best way to shortcut your guitar ride?

If you're a beginner, try to get some advice from a friend who plays. That's more fun but you'll find however close you are, they tire of teaching you. Then you check out the web, then books, cds, dvds, videos, tv etc... You get an idea of the guitar jargon and names of all the techniques. Learn a few chords then you decide to get really serious because you've got the bug and you're enjoying playing and learning. Maybe it's time for an experienced expert to guide you? Give me a ring if you want some frontier 21st century guitar stuff!
