Shaping Guitar-Music Techniques
 |
Signing in for zen guitar lessons could be the best
choice you make to reach your musical ambition. You can discover the passion of playing
much quicker and easier than on your own because you get the finger dexterity, fluidity, musicianship, theory and sound you need. You can wait
for a lifetime practising in the corner of your
bedroom, but from what I can see not many people succeed learning
how to play the guitar just on their own, unless they began at a very early age or in their teens. All of us have heard legends
of self taught guitarists who emerge from the darkest and biggest
ghetto and spread their wings over the music scene. Young musicians take example from these heroic characters believing that they can achieve
exactly what their role model guitarist did and everything without
any guitar tuition whatsoever. The unheroic and more truthful reality is much less glamorous. No Jedi reached mastery without true knowledge from a person who could balance the Force. |
 |
That's why so many young guitar players try to invent
their own techniques and work on their own style without guitar
tuition before they learn how to play the instrument well. It's sort of like the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak syndrome. It's a brave gesture and should not be viewed with a patronising eye. They struggle
to play the simplest passage yet still strive to be
ingenious pioneers of a new music. If you communicate to the young, fresh and idealistic nature of visionaries, they don't take offence, but in fact appreciate the new window you have shown them. If you told them what you really think, namely,
that they should polish that entire innovative noise at some decent
guitar lessons with a superior air of snobery, then you close the channel from the ocean to the river, so to speak. |
I know what it means for young player when you tell
him that they should undergo some sort of training with professional guitar
lessons. They feel like they've lost the rebel battle if
they can’t
play as good as their self-taught forerunners who succeeded
with no help at all. What’s
more they see teachers as a bad influence, convinced
that every tutor will try to impose his style on them at his
guitar sessions. Ultimately you take or leave what you want! If you want to literally wipe years off your efforts, then give me ring. |
