GUITAR INSTRUCTIONS

Dear John,

I started to learn how to play guitar over the last year and have realised that I need specialised guitar instructions to get fast progress. My older brother tried teaching me but it's not the same as a pro who knows all the tricks of the trade in conjuction with good guitar instructions, methods, cds etc... He loses patience within 1/2 hour and I'm left feeling super dumb. I felt like I would never know how to play guitar. An ant climbing Mount Everest in my head! We made a bet whether or not professional guitar instructions could help me to become a good guitarist in a month. Obviously this was not possible but it gave me an incentive to improve slightly and made me concentrate more because I had a time frame to keep to. I wanted to win the bet, as he promised a new and better guitar and because I really wanted to play as a professional rock star one day, another dream of mine. Unfortunately I really have no idea where and how to get guitar instructions suitable for me – a total beginner. I know everybodys trip starts with one step and for me this means pro guitar instructions asap, whether it be a book, a video, a dvd or private lessons. I realize it's difficult. I have been going to a musician for help lately. He has many musician friends playing live in clubs who can advise me about guitar instructions from live performing guitarists. I am able to invest all my savings. I am very serious about playing and will dedicate much time as I want to be able to make a decent living out of music against all odds.
