We’ve already covered the problems which Guitar
Tablature can present to even an experienced player and we
mentioned the lack of certain musical information in that type of musical
notation or record. We deduced that you can’t
condemn Guitar Tablatures entirely as they are also a very good
tool for publicizing the music which portray.
John Mizarolli uses tab and diagrams in his Guitar
Lessons and finds most guitarists are comfortable decoding Guitar Tablature, whereas traditional
music notation is a separate discipline and students
struggle unnecessarily to master reading music instead

With the helping hand of a professional everything is
relatively easy but the situation is entirely different when
a novice is trying to work out Guitar Tablature on his
own. A more serious problem occurs when an inexperienced
player tries to read music from an Eric Clapton Guitar
Tabs source on the web. If you don't know the physical motor skills of the Guitar Techniques in the first place like Slides, Hammer-ons, Pull-offs and Bends then, basically your screwed as Tab doesn't even give the basic message! A normal
player takes for granted which fingers to use to fret a note
and it comes naturally. He can also make his mind up when to
use picking and when to use strumming but for the beginner
this is a major problem, hence the
necassity for Guitar Teachers.

That is why novices should read Blues Guitar
Tablatures with their teacher to avoid making mistakes and
learn how to play properly. If you can already play and read
from tabs there is no question about this simple means of Guitar Communication. Guitar Tablatures are
a great help for all musicians. Even if you can work out
how to play the song yourself it's always easier if someone
has done the work for you. You can take advantage of his work.
