Reading Tab - How To Read Music and Tab

Obviously when learning guitar, reading tabs is important. In my guitar lessons, reading tabs only takes a small amount of time as it's very simple to understand. Reading guitar tabs is different from written manuscript notation or standard music notation.

In written music there are 5 lines used, this is the staff or stave. In guitar tablature there are 6 lines representing the 6 strings of the guitar and the numbers written horizontally from left to right on the lines are the fret numbers on the guitar. The fingering is not always obvious.
