John wrote the synopsis for the best selling guitar book in the world 'The Guitar Handbook' The publishers Dorling Kindersley stated they wanted him to complete and organize the whole book but insisted he left out the spiritual aspect of music as a central theme as it would be more commercial. By that time though, thousands of guitarists were being inspired by the zen approach and John refused to carry on without the philosophy incorporated into the full publication. Needless to say, Dorling Kindersley who were the Microsoft of the book industry in those days (early 80's) dropped him and John Mizarolli was not even mentioned anywhere!
